Serrated Fin Strip
Serrated fin strip is made by uncoiling and partially slitting across the width from one edge to within 1/4" of the other edge, leaving a solid base for continuous welding. Standard segment widths are 5/32" or 5/16".
As the fin strip is formed around the tube the outer unrestrained edge expands, allowing a greater fin to tube O.D. ratio than the Welded Helical Solid geometry. The corresponding surface area increase is the primary advantage of this fin type.
